Achieving Energy Savings Through Performance-Based Ventilation: Understanding the Standard

“Achieving Energy Savings Through Performance-Based Ventilation: Understanding the Standard” provides an introduction to the ASHRAE Standard 62.1-2022 Indoor Air Quality Procedure (IAQP) and the key requirements that support its application. Attendees will explore Table 6-5 contaminants, air cleaner efficiency testing, and IAQP Verification Testing, while learning when performance-based ventilation is an appropriate strategy for new and existing buildings. The session will also examine a real-world application to demonstrate how IAQP can reduce outdoor air requirements, energy consumption, and HVAC equipment capacity.

Dinner Program

Achieving Energy Savings Through Performance-Based Ventilation: Design to IAQP (Part 2)

“Achieving Energy Savings Through Performance-Based Ventilation: Designing to IAQP” builds on the fundamentals of ASHRAE Standard 62.1-2022 IAQP and focuses on the process of applying the standard to building design. Attendees will take a deeper look at the ASHRAE IAQP Calculator, contaminant and air cleaner inputs, and the design considerations required to develop a compliant performance-based ventilation strategy. The session will also walk through real-world project calculations and examples, demonstrating how IAQP can be translated from the standard into practical designs with measurable energy and equipment savings.
